COVID-19 has impacted every industry, completely changing the way of life that we knew. A new normal has emerged in every field, and weddings are no exception. Technology has become more relevant than ever and is playing a big role in making weddings safe and smart. Here are 5 ways in which technology is creating a better wedding experience for both the couple and the guests in such unusual times.

1. Gift registry

Say hello to contact-less gifting! With the emergence of an online gift registry, guests can buy or contribute towards a gift from their homes, and the gifts are delivered to the couple’s doorstep. The guest can still send their gift even if they are unable to attend the wedding.

2. Live streaming

Virtual weddings is now the new buzzword. With restrictions on social gatherings and smaller guest lists, only a close circle of near and dear ones is present at the venue. But with live streaming, every guest can be a part of and witness the wedding from their couch! As if that was not enough, you even have the virtual reality option- you just strap on a headset and be magically transported to the wedding!

3. Video interaction

Why watch the wedding live stream all by yourself when you can have company? Interact with other guests over a video call as you watch the bride and groom walk down the aisle. Take photos together and share gossip — no wedding is complete without that right?

4. Digital invitations

These can be sent instantly via any social media platform, thereby minimizing individual contact. From e-cards, to animated invites and video invites, there are so many options to choose from. Psst, they are pocket friendly too, so that’s an added perk!

5. Wedding Apps

Wedding planning can now be done through a small icon in your phone. When you can manage guest transport, accommodation, RSVPS, wedding checklists and much more with an app, you can reduce your reliance on wedding planners, and say bye to Excel sheets.
